Battle Angel Alita commission

Ah, Battle Angel Alita...dammit, Jim Cameron, why aren't you going ahead with the live-action film for this? WHY?

Ahem--ah, sorry about that. This was a commission done in '06 for someone who had actually commissioned me to do the Chobits pic as well. It's Alita from LAST ORDER (yeah, I know her name is Gally in GUNMM...), complete with the blade. The scan for this came out sort of crappy, so please pardon the weird look....

The upside to all of this was that a print of this was bought by a very nice girl cosplaying as Alita.

This was traditional, all done in pencil. Enjoy and comment....

UPDATE: (July 27, 2018) Well, ten years after posting this, it looks like we are finally getting a live-action BAA film, and although Jim Cameron isn't directing it, he did write it (or rather, he co-wrote it) and is producing it, with Robert Rodriguez in the director's chair.  Frankly, I'm glad they cast Rosa Salazar as Alita, and while I'm hearing a lot of moaning and groaning, I'm just glad that this is finally making it to the big screen.  In December we'll find out if the wait was worth it.
