For the second volume of the Colony Drop fanzine (currently in production). From left to right: Kazumi Amano from GUNBUSTER, Nadia from NADIA: THE SECRET OF BLUE WATER, Noriko from GUNBUSTER, and the "Daicon Bunny" girl. I finished this a couple of months ago.

These four were from productions made during Gainax Studio's early years (the mid to late 1980s) and I enjoyed the hell out of working on this piece. Not easy to get the poses right (and I still think I did not), but GUNBUSTER and NADIA were required viewing when I started off as an anime fan, and all these years later, they still hold up.

Drawn in Vermillion pencil, inked in Manga Studio and colored in PhotoShop.

All characters created by Gainax (original designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Haruhiko Mikimoto).

Same here--I remember when it was a huge deal "back in the day" (as in pre-EVANGELION). I was lucky to get the entire series on DVD back when I used to write anime reviews--so that mean's I got it for free (yay!)--and I could finally watch the whole thing. Loved it very much.
