This piece is the first time I've ever created a fan art based on the widely popular (in Japan, anyway!) "Vocaloid" Hatsune Miku. I've been familiar with the story behind her creation for some time now, and also became a huge fan of KEI, the artist who designed her. I highly recommend KEI's artbook "KEI's Gallery" (I hope that's the right title...wish my Kanji was better...)
This was done for a fan art contest from Anime News Network, sponsored by AAA Anime Inc. Hence their logos in the piece. Unfortunately, I was pretty sick for most of the past few days, so everything else I was working on, such as commissions for clients, had to be put on hold. I will resume work on 'em....
Drawn and inked by hand, as always, and painted in PhotoShop.
Oh my god, now i scared, i was acculery listening to Hatsune Miku - Last Night, Good Night 初音ミクがオリジナル曲を歌ってくれました And then suddenly she just pops up on DA, well i think you did a great job espiccaly with the colouring.. !
Thanks you very much! Although I'm also very grateful to have the artbook by KEI, who designed Miku. That book was a great ref when creating the picture.
(Also, I was one of the five winners in the contest that the picture was for. I was quite happy for that!) -- "You know, someday...someday I might learn to like the human race." --from PERIPHERAL (2008)
